Several hundred tourist facilities, i.e. hotels, apartments, villas and similar facilities throughout Montenegro have been advertised for sale, according to data from real estate websites. Almost 300 hotels and tourist facilities in Budva are for sale in Montenegro. These data worried the authorities, considering that tourism is the main economic branch that brings the highest income in that country, a Montenegrin investor announced, Kamatica reports.

Most of these hotels are sold on the coast, and their prices vary from several hundred thousand euros to several million.

"According to the data I have, there are about 500 hotels in Montenegro, and probably some of the hotels offered on the ads are duplicates. We are dominated by small hotels, and I am not surprised by the offers for the sale of those facilities, because for a long time we have had big problems with the management of the facilities, which are increasing year by year," said the dean of the Faculty of Business and Tourism in Budva. Rade Ratkovic.

As the dean states, more than three decades have enabled the construction of secondary apartments, that is, in our tourist structure, large hotels make up only ten percent.

"That's why 90 percent of low-quality accommodation dictates the quality of tourism, and that's why our tourism product is slowly losing quality," Ratkovic points out.

45 hotels are for sale in Herceg Novi, and as many as 36 such facilities are advertised in Kotor, and 28 in Tivat. As many as 51 buildings are for sale in Budva, while 105 and 25 tourist buildings are advertised in Bar and Ulcinj. This, it seems, is a consequence of the multi-decade turning of the coastal region towards tourism and the increase in the construction of residential buildings.
