The Serbian Patriarch Porphyry and the Macedonian Archbishop gg Stephen will serve a reconciliation liturgy on May 19 in the church of St. Sava in Belgrade, Serbian media write.

The liturgy will begin at nine o'clock, and will be officiated by all the archbishops of the two churches. Porphyry invites the faithful to attend the hierarchical liturgy in large numbers.

In Belgrade, according to Serbian media, after the letter, MOC-OA started secret meetings with the SOC, and it is speculated that the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Istanbul was contacted. Church documents for the liturgy were kept in a crypt at the St. Sava Church, whose entrances were barricaded and covered with a floor covering, and additionally protected by private security, some media in Belgrade reported.

After the decision of the SOC, there were criticisms in the Macedonian public that the MOC-OA actually goes far back from the key declaration of autocephaly of the MOC in 1967 when the SOC opened the dispute and challenged the ecclesiastical independence of the Macedonian Church.
