In the largest Albanian port, Durres, in a truck loaded with chrome, last night, 45,5 kilograms of heroin were found and seized.

- The permanent operational group working in the port of Durres, based on the received information, performs detailed control on the motor vehicles at the exit and entrance to the port. During the control of the exit in the second line, in a truck type "Scania", more precisely in the cab of the truck, 43 packages of heroin were found, with a total weight of 45,5 kilograms, according to the police statement.

According to police, there are grounds for suspicion that the drugs should have ended up on the Italian drug market.

The owner of the vehicle, who is from Durres, as well as the driver from the city of Fier were arrested. Both denied having any connection to the extra load on the truck.
