VMRO-DPMNE demands constitutional changes immediately in the Assembly or resignation and elections
"Daily betrayals by the criminal authorities of SDSM and DUI should stop. The constant pressures from the Kovachevski government on the deputies of VMRO-DPMNE will not pass. It is clear to Kovachevski as well, that is why he is trying in every way to stay on the prime minister's chair as long as possible", reads the statement from VMRO-DPMNE which the party sent to the media.
Here is the full statement:
"In order to stop the pressure from the authorities on the MPs, SDSM and Kovachevski have a choice and an offer from the President Hristijan Mickoski. If Kovacevski and SDSM are sure that they have 80 deputies, immediately after the deputies return to the Parliament, they should put the constitutional amendments on the agenda of the first parliamentary session.
However, if the constitutional amendments to include the Bulgarians in the Constitution are not passed at that session, the next day, the Parliament should be dissolved and early parliamentary elections should be held. If the authorities are sure that what they are doing is right, here is a choice for them, either serving Bulgaria and changing the Constitution or early elections. This is an honest and fair offer. Kovacevski is on the move.
National betrayals must be put to an end. The daily statements by the Bulgarian politicians only confirms what we were talking about, that every day new and new conditions and demands will arrive from Bulgaria towards this servile government headed by Kovachevski.
VMRO-DPMNE is for Europeanization, not assimilation and Bulgarianization. Europeanization of Macedonia yes, but not under Bulgarian dictation. And for the protection of national interests, the deputies of VMRO-DPMNE and the coalition will firmly persist in this position.
