Bishop Kliment appointed as the new spokesperson of the Synod of the MOC-OA
Bishop Heraklejski d. Kliment is the new spokesman of the Synod of the Macedonian Orthodox Church - Ohrid Archdiocese, the Office of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the MOC - OA announced today.
- In the future, the secretary of the Synod, His Eminence the Bishop of Heraklej, Mr. Kliment will perform the duty of spokesman of the Synod and present to the public the official views of the SAS of the MOC - OA. His duties will begin on January 1, 2025, according to today's announcement after the regular session.
Bishop Heraklejski d. Kliment will perform this duty after the retirement of Debar-Kicevo Metropolitan Timotej on November 25.
The Metropolitan of Debar-Kicevo, Mr. Timotej, was buried on November 28 in the southern enclosure of the temple of "Saint Panteleimon" in Plaoshnik in Ohrid.
After a regular working session, the Synod informs the church public that the forty-day commemoration of the blessed Metropolitan Timothy will be held on January 3, 2025, on Plaoshnik in Ohrid.
The Synod also expressed deep concern about the new situation in Syria and Lebanon.
- The Synod expresses its deep concern for the new situation in Syria and Lebanon, as well as for the affected faithful children of the Antiochian Patriarchate. Also, as a sister Church, sincerely sympathizing, we ask the All-Merciful God, who comforts the burdened (Mt. 11, 28), to bless the Syrians and the Christians of the East - shepherded by His Beatitude the Patriarch of Antioch and of the whole East, John X - and to strengthen them in faith and hope, while giving them the necessary peace, the announcement states.
