The ruling party in Kazakhstan unanimously nominated Tokaev for a second term

Today, the ruling Amanat party in Kazakhstan unanimously nominated the country's president Kasim-Jomart Tokaev for a new mandate, in the extraordinary presidential elections.

Previously, the president of the party Yerlan Koshanov proposed the candidacy of the Kazakh president for the elections at the end of next month, reports TASS.

The decision to appoint Tokaev was unanimous, the party announced.

Tokayev took office as President of Kazakhstan in March 2019, succeeding Nursultan Nazarbayev after 29 years in power.
