The Government should adopt the Proposal-initiative for constitutional amendments, prepared by the working group, which should then be proposed to the Parliament. In order to open the Constitution, the Proposal - the initiative needs to receive two-thirds support in the Parliament.

President Stevo Pendarovski confirmed yesterday that he is familiar with the content of the constitutional amendments which, as he said, the Government should adopt and propose in the Parliament today. The amendments, he added, were formed according to the agreement with the EU and according to the conclusions of the Parliament. Contrary to the previously stated position, the head of state now says that the procedure in the Parliament should start even if the necessary majority is not secured.

- Today, I am more inclined to believe that it is necessary to enter the Parliament, even assuming that you do not have a certain 80 votes beforehand, because clearly in such a way and with the first vote that requires two thirds, the two main blocs in the state would be identified - pro-European and anti-European bloc, Pendarovski says, recalling 2015 when, before entering the first vote for the Prespa Agreement, the then government structure did not secure 80 votes at that moment.

Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski yesterday once again sent a message that he expects all political parties and MPs to vote for the constitutional amendments in the name of the people for a better quality of life and a more secure future.

- I will propose all the necessary decisions for North Macedonia to continue its path in achieving the second strategic goal - membership in the European Union. I hope that all the political parties in the country, all the people's representatives, all the MPs will recognize the importance of this decision and will cast their vote for the people, and not for the personal career of any politician in the country, Kovacevski said.

At the weekend, Prime Minister Kovacevski sent an invitation for a meeting to the leader of VMRO-DPMNE, Hristijan Mickoski, which would be held in the next ten days, and during which they would discuss two topics: bringing lessons about the integration of North Macedonia and harmonizing the views on relations with neighboring countries. countries.

Mickoski, on the other hand, confirmed yesterday once again that he accepts the invitation for the leadership meeting, but also that the prime minister should have been aware of the period after the failure of the constitutional amendments, because, according to him, failure to pass the amendments will mean the fall of the government.

- These days they announced a leadership meeting. To be honest, I don't have much hope, although I will attend the meeting, because whenever the future of Macedonia is discussed, I think it is necessary to participate. At the same time, at that meeting, I want the prime minister to be aware of the time after the constitutional changes will fail, said Mickoski from the party tribune in Delčevo.

According to him, more than 80 percent of the Macedonian people are against accepting, as he says, the Bulgarian dictate, and VMRO-DPMNE, he said, will not agree to change the Constitution under these circumstances and dictate neither now nor in the future.

The working group at the session on Friday adopted the Proposal initiative on the need to amend the Constitution with guidelines for amendments and additions. The proposal has been submitted to the Government, which will then have to forward the initiative to the Parliament, where it will pass all working bodies.

The changes are in the Preamble section by adding several nations. After the Bosniak people, the words: Bulgarian people, Croatian people, Montenegrin people, Slovenian people, Jewish people, Egyptian people are added, said the president of the working group, Margarira Tsatsa Nikolovska, after the meeting. The second amendment, as she added, is in the section on the diaspora and in amendment 34, which is replaced by article 49 and amendment 2. In this amendment to the Constitution of the Republic of North Macedonia, which replaces article 49 and amendment 2, after the Bosniak people are add the words Bulgarian people, Croatian, Montenegrin people, Slovenian people, Jewish people, Egyptian people.
