During yesterday, Dejan Georgievski at the Olympic Games in Tokyo at the taekwondo tournament in the category over 80 kg. won the silver medal.

It is the first medal of these Games for Macedonia, and in total in its history at the Summer Olympic Games.

Georgievski, coaches Borce and Darko Kostovski showed that the Macedonian Olympic taekwondo is at a top planetary level, and is one of the best in the world.

Georgievski noted the greatest sports result in the history of independent Macedonia, it will forever be written in golden letters in our and world sports history.

The government rewarded the team with money after this great success achieved by Japan:

- The Government of the Republic of Northern Macedonia at its regular 92nd session decided that our representative at the Tokyo Olympics who won a silver medal in the taekwondo discipline Dejan Georgievski to be awarded a cash prize in the amount of 1.200.000,00 denars, and to his coach Darko Kostovski to be awarded 600.000,00 denars.

The winner of the silver medal in taekwondo at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games will be awarded with an additional 600.000,00 denars by the Agency for Youth and Sports - announced by the Government.
