Gasification, subsidizing citizens to return to central heating, purchase of electric buses, project to reduce the number of vehicles on streets with so-called "car sharing" (more people in one car) – these are the measures to reduce air pollution that the Government plans to implement to deal with the problem of air pollution. The measures were announced by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning Izet Mejiti, answering journalist's questions in Lipkovo.

According to Mejiti, measures are taken every day to reduce air pollution. One of them, as he pointed out, is today's tree planting event in Lipkovo, in Sveti Nikole, in Stracinci, as well as in other cities. For the Minister of Environment, it is also important to deal with the causes of air pollution, the use of all kinds of means for heating by households, and he cited public transport as one of the factors.

- I am in favor of starting the gasification process of the Republic of Macedonia as soon as possible, which would clearly contribute to this. As the Government, we will subsidize the citizens in the urban areas where it is most polluted to return to central heating, which is the cleanest. Also, in terms of public transport, we donated six buses through the EU, but we also plan as the Government to buy 120 electric buses. These days we will also promote a new project "car sharing" which is a private initiative, but which contributes to reducing the number of cars and constantly means that we will be in contact together with you and the non-governmental sector to find the best solutions that are possible in our country. , Majiti said.

Regarding the water supply needs of the Lipkovo municipality, the first vice-president of the Government said that in cooperation with the municipality, the problems with the water supply will be bridged.

- In this function is also the money that the government allocates and it is a billion euros that will be allocated precisely to solve the real and concrete problems in our municipalities because we appreciate that Macedonia is very centralized, so with this the municipalities will have more opportunities to solve such problems such as this one in Lipkovo, as well as other problems within the Municipality, stated Mejiti.
