The incident with Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani at Skopje International Airport that happened on August 2 will not disrupt the good neighborly relations between Kosovo and Macedonia, Prime Ministers Albin Kurti and Hristijan Mickoski are decisive after today's meeting in Skopje which, as they said, was constructive and in friendly atmosphere. A report is being prepared for the incident, which will include two previous incidents from September 16 and October 9 last year, for which Prime Minister Mickoski did not provide more details.

- Our goal is to build good neighborly relations with all our neighbors, on the principle of a two-way street. The relations between the two countries have not been disturbed, but we are giving a new dimension in a positive direction. The difference between the current and the previous government is that now the public knows, while the previous two cases of deviant behavior did not go public - said Prime Minister Mickoski.

He publicly offered personally the next time, if he receives the information in time, with the pleasure of accompanying the President of Kosovo to the airport in Skopje while she travels, just to avoid this type of incidents.

- President Vjosa Osmani was at the Skopje airport with her family, with her daughters, and we regret that this incident happened. There will be an official report in detail so that we understand exactly what happened and that it does not happen again - stressed Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

Mickoski added that the special behavior of individuals is our domestic problem, which we will solve, given that allegedly a member of the security of the Speaker of the Assembly Afrim Gashi stood with a gun to the head of a policeman who asked the President of Kosovo to give his cell phone phone to go to skerner.

- There are competent institutions that will shed light on the case in two parts. The first part is until the person arrives and the second part is after the person arrives. No one will be above the law while I am prime minister and if such an incident is confirmed, there will be responsibility - said Mickoski.

To this Kurti added that the investigation should shed light on the case if there is a violation of procedures and powers.

- Mickoski and I cannot be both customs officers, inspectors and policemen. The case needs to be clarified - Kurti is decisive.

Kurti was asked if Kosovo maintains the position that this event is a provocation. But he said that every "citizen" could have said that, but not the institutions of Kosovo, stressing that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Diaspora of Kosovo expressed the Government's position through announcements.

However, the event was assessed as a provocation by the institution of the Presidency of Kosovo, and this is confirmed by the official statement from The Presidency of Kosovo.

"Yesterday's situation at the Skopje airport cannot be explained or evaluated in any other way, except as a pure provocation and a tendency for an incident," reads the reaction of the Presidency on August 2.

Extraditions are also on the table

The two prime ministers also discussed extraditions, that is, the former KLA member Blerim Ramadani, who was wanted with a warrant from Interpol Serbia, and was recently caught by the Macedonian police. Ramadani is under house arrest in Skopje from the first of August to the 16th of this month until further procedures are completed. Last week, the Minister of Justice Igor Filkov announced that they sent a new request to Kosovo for the extradition of Alil Demirovic and Afrim Ismailovic, who were sentenced to life imprisonment for the massacre of five people near Smilkovo Lake.

- The Ministers of Justice will continue to cooperate on this case. We want to increase and improve relations between the two countries - Mickoski said.

- The case with the two refugees has been initiated in the Special Public Prosecutor's Office in our country. It is in the interest of both countries to close these cases as soon as possible, to preserve good neighborly relations, but also the constitutions and laws of both countries - emphasized Kurti.

The two prime ministers expect the economic cooperation between Kosovo and Macedonia to deepen, and the current trade exchange of half a billion euros to grow in the future, to improve the Skopje - Blace border crossing for faster transport of goods and passengers between the two neighboring countries as well as Elez Han crossing (General Jankovic)

- And I see no reason why, with the efforts of both governments, that exchange should not be even greater. With the construction of the infrastructure projects, the highway that will connect the border crossing with our capital, the potential road direction that will connect Tetovo and Prizren, and so on, priorities that are very important - stressed Mickoski.

- We all know that we have many families and relatives on both sides of the border, even my deputy for foreign affairs, Donika Schwartz, is originally from Skopje, and her stepmother is also from Skopje. And Glaucus Conjufca, too. And we are interested, as Mickoski emphasized, in having the largest and freest movement of citizens possible, and therefore, undoubtedly, this road route that connects our borders and our countries, after it is put into use, will contribute extremely much in that direction - said Kurti.

He did not want to comment on the recent statement of the Minister of Inter-Community Relations Ivan Stoilkovic about the "terrorizing of the Serbian residents of Kosovo", so he referred to the rights of the Serbs in Kosovo, where according to him live 93 percent Albanians, 4 percent Serbs and other communities. after a smaller number.

- There are 10 seats reserved for Serbs in the Kosovo parliament, the Serbian language is official in 70 percent of the municipalities, RTK2 broadcasts 24 hours of programming in the Serbian language, Nenad Rasic is the Minister of Communities and Returns. Currently, there are no inter-ethnic gaps, but the problem is the language barrier, why the younger generations of Kosovar Albanians do not speak the Serbian language, unlike my generation, which studied the Serbian-Croatian language - said Kurti.

Irresponsible DUI conduct

The Macedonian Prime Minister again expressed concern about the "irresponsible behavior of DUI as a threat to peace and stability", which he spoke about in an interview for "Focus" and emphasized that violent protests can be expected, which will have an appropriate response.

- The management of DUI in an attempt to protect the capital will take steps to destabilize the state, but we will take all necessary measures as a government to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Macedonia as a state. We expect something to happen this fall, but we'll see. In the future, however, we expect the adoption of reform laws to be supported by all political actors in the country, the Left, SDSM and DUI - said Mickoski.
