Greek tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas defeated the Swiss Alexander Richard with 3: 1 in sets, 7: 6,6: 3,5: 7,6: 4, after three hours and 34 minutes of play and advanced to the second round of Wimbledon.

In the first set, both tennis players made two breaks, so the question of the winner was resolved in a tie-break in which the Greek tennis player was much better and allowed the opponent to win only one point.

The second set took place entirely in the sign of the fifth tennis player on the ATP ranking list, who twice took Richard's serve away and took the lead with 2: 0 in sets.

However, the Swiss did not give up and thanks to the decisive service he managed to save a few break points and then in the 11th game to make a break and reduce the advantage of Tsitsipas to 2: 1 in etches.

The fourth set started great for Richard who came to a break in the opening game, but Tsitsipas immediately made a re-break, and then with another break in the tenth game secured the placement in the second round. His next opponent will be the Australian Jordan Thompson, who eliminated Roberto Carbelias Baenja in three sets.

Roberto Bautista Agut had a convincing performance in the first round, which allowed the Hungarian Balash to win only four games, while Denis Shapovalov, Lorenzo Sonego and Filip Krajinovic won in five sets in the duels with Rinderkneh, Kudla and Lehecka.
