Viktor Dimovski further away from Paris?

Whether the former director of the National Security Agency (NSA) Viktor Dimovski will leave for ambassador in Paris is expected to be clearer next week, when the consultations between the head of state Stevo Pendarovski, Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bujar Osmani are scheduled. . Dimovski's departure as ambassador to France became controversial after the scandal over the issuance of Macedonian citizenship to Russian oligarch Oleksandr Onishchenko, who is on the US blacklist, which occurred during his tenure at the head of the ANB.

The head of diplomacy Osmani, to a question from "Sloboden Pechat", said that immediately after Christmas, on January 9, there will be a meeting with Pendarovski and Kovacevski about Dimovski and the list of proposals for filling 14 ambassador positions.

- It is planned to sit down with the president and the prime minister sometime on the 9th, right after the holidays, not only on that topic, but on the entire list that I have sent for 14 new candidates for ambassadors. Of course, it is a proposal that will have to be filtered, but the whole list, including the ambassador in Paris, will be discussed from January 9. Yesterday I communicated with them on this topic and we agreed that immediately after the holidays we should sit down and discuss the entire list - Osmani told us.

Pendarovski is waiting for information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Pendarovski's office told "Sloboden Pechat" that they are waiting for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide information about Dimovski and reiterated the position that the decision whether he will be sent to Paris will be made after the consultations.

- The decision to refer Viktor Dimovski will be made in consultation with the Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not provided information to the president about the completion of the procedure for appointing Viktor Dimovski as ambassador to Paris - say Pendarovski's office.

Almost a month ago, the office of the head of state stated that Pendarovski will carry out additional consultations on whether to grant a visa for Dimovski to go as the ambassador of Macedonia to France, regardless of the fact that the Republic of France a few months ago gave an agreement for the appointment of Viktor Dimovski as ambassador of the Republic of North Macedonia in Paris. The head of state believes that it is necessary to hold additional consultations with Kovacevski and Osmani precisely because of the "Onishchenko" scandal. After this, Osmani also stated that after the citizenship scandal, Dimovski's situation will have to be reassessed and a political decision made.

Depending on the decision of Pendarovski, Kovacevski and Osmani, it will be known whether the procedure for sending Dimovski to Paris will continue. If Dimovski does not get a visa, the procedure stops and a new proposal will be needed for the ambassador's seat in France. If, on the other hand, the three decide that there are no obstacles for Dimovski to go to France, then the procedure should continue in the parliamentary Foreign Policy Committee, since the agreement has been obtained and the theses have been approved. The President of the Commission, Antonijo Milošoski, has already stated that the phrase "systemic failure" (determined by the report of the new director of the National Security Agency, Zarko Miloševski, from the closed parliamentary commission) in the granting of Onishchenko's citizenship, carries with it objective responsibility, and it can mostly is located with the former director Dimovski, in the very arrangement of things and the omissions that led to such scandals.

Milososki: Dimovski is a compromised solution

- Pendarovski, Kovacevski and Osmani should seriously consider Dimovski's appointment as ambassador to Paris. It is obvious that this big scandal leaves a big security compromise and we should not have such a compromised solution in one of the key members of NATO and the founder of the EU, France, and I appeal to offer another solution for an ambassador in Paris - said Milošoski after the session of which the new head of the National Security Agency Milosevski referred to the "Onishchenko" case.

Onishchenko received Macedonian citizenship during Dimovski's directorship of ANB, which was one of the four institutions that gave a positive opinion for Onishchenko to receive a Macedonian passport. After the scandal, the Government took away Onishchenko's citizenship, and even after the two reports made by the National Security Agency, one by Dimovski and one by the new director of the Milosevski Agency, the public did not receive an answer as to who is responsible for the oligarch's failure to obtain Macedonian citizenship, because the parliamentary session A commission to oversee the work of the security services was held behind closed doors due to classified information.

The NBA report on Onishchenko should also be found in a closed session of the Government.
