The story of the most delicious ice cream in Dubrovnik is heard far and wide, Macedonian tourists look specifically for the location of "Dubrovnik Gelateria" on the map in order to try this sweet specialty. We didn't stay too short, we curiously walked through the ancient city, once Ragusa, walking on the 13th century cobblestones, to try this famous sweet treat. In the warm September evening, the refreshment of milk straccatella, pistachio, juicy raspberry, chocolate and delicious vanilla served us well.

The three brothers Senad Heidari, Cane Heidari and Kjutim Heidari from Gostivar are the third generation to successfully continue the tradition of making ice cream in the center of the fashionable Dalmatian town. This family's tradition of making ice cream has lasted for a long time, half a century, as long as the specific taste of the ice cream will remain on your palate.

- My grandfather Nevzat came to Dubrovnik from Gostivar back in 1968 to sell ice cream. He opened the first store near us, on the first street on the right. Since 2006, we have opened a bar here on "Stradun" and we are happy that we did not make the wrong decision, we are doing great - says Senad Heidari for Free Press.

Hajdari says that their tradition has a recognizable taste that brings back customers, especially those from Macedonia.

– Our recipe has a recognizable taste, customers come back every year especially for our ice cream. We regularly have tourists from Macedonia, they have heard about us and come on purpose. Everyone likes the ice cream and many of them come back year after year. I want to publicly thank them for that, we appreciate that they are looking for us - he said.

The three brothers who own the pastry shop, Senad (36 years old), Cane (45 years old) and Kyutim (30 years old), currently work in the pastry shop together with the employees. The employees this year are young Croatians, but a few years ago, one summer, our interlocutor recalled, they employed a girl from Kriva Palanka.

- 2-3 summers ago we had a girl, Ana, from Kriva Palanka who worked for us. On this occasion, I also want to greet her. We like when we have Macedonians as colleagues, we are thinking of hiring our workers from next year - explains Senad.
