VIDEO INTERVIEW | Muhammed Ibrahimi and Boban Mirkovski: There is no technology that could ever replace the artist
On the December 10, at 20 p.m. in the small hall of the Philharmonia, a pre-New Year's concert will be held that unites the sounds of four exceptional musicians, Muhammad Ibrahimi, Boban Mirkovski, Ratko Dautovski and Fjola Ismaili. On that occasion in the show Free Press pianist Boban Mirkovski and guitarist Muhammad Ibrahimi were guests.
It is always a pleasure to see and hear top musicians on stage. It is like a creative competition in which experiences and energies are exchanged, which each of them brings with them to the concerts. These musicians are an example of that, that regardless of how long they've known each other, they sound great together, that's how they came up with the idea of making this chamber ensemble.
- We have been cooperating for many years, we were thinking about whether everyone should do a special concert, have guests and so on, and somehow we spontaneously came up with the idea, why not join together and do something new. And so completely spontaneously, completely by chance, we agreed and the result is this concert - says Boban.
– When you work with top musicians, it feels like you've known each other for years. We have performed with Boban Mirkovski in that very hall, where we will perform on the 10th, and the experience is wonderful. This will be our third or fourth joint performance. We have been collaborating with Ratko Dautovski for a long time, at least 10 years, and Fjola is also an exceptional cellist, and we have played with her, so we already know each other as musicians. I have performed alone, but also with a band. It feels different, but when you're in a band, especially one like this, you're a little more free and you can improvise. It suits me, maybe sometimes an accomplice is surprised, but I like improvisation at concerts. By the way, I'm a former guitarist of the group "Blah blah blah", so I've played in different bands. When you play solo, you have unlimited creativity, but both suit me - says Muhammad about his experience on stage.
At a time when technology penetrates the world of art, where the key role is played by the artist, concerts are a place where you can still feel the magic and soul of the artist, and fortunately, no one can replace that.
- Unfortunately, the situation is not good, even at the world level, not only here, with the exception of the USA, where commercial music flourishes. I think that, in general, the world is in an artistic crisis. Especially since we are inundated with newly created styles of music and that artificial intelligence has managed to enter the world of art as well. We don't know where our end is, but I claim that there is no technology that could ever replace the artist as a person. So I believe that will come to an end when people realize that AI is still just intelligence, it has no soul. What man can create with his artistic soul, I believe that technology will never be able to achieve - says Boban.
- I hope that we will always have a sincere and real audience, and not an artificial one - added Muhammad.
