Two people were injured, and dozens of residential and other buildings were damaged in a Russian missile attack on the Kyiv region during the night, the head of the regional state administration said today.

- Of the three missiles launched by Russia, the Ukrainian air defense system destroyed two over the Kyiv region, said the commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, Mykola Oleschuk.

In his statement on the Telegram messaging app, Oleschuk did not say what happened to the third missile. A video of a Russian rocket flying over Kiev is spreading on social networks.

Fragments from the rocket injured two people who did not need hospitalization, Ruslan Kravchenko, head of the administration of the Kyiv region, said in Telegram.

Six-story buildings and more than 20 private houses were also damaged in the attack, Kravchenko added. In addition, a gas station, a pharmacy, an administrative building and three cars in the region were damaged.

The Russians attacked Kyiv early this morning

Kiev, its surrounding region and several others across Ukraine were on an airstrike alert for about an hour this morning, starting at 4:50 a.m. local time.

Eyewitnesses to Reuters reported hearing several explosions in and around Kyiv at the time.

Russia's air defense system has destroyed 12 Ukrainian drones targeting Russia's Bryansk region, the governor of the region, which borders Ukraine, said on Sunday.

According to the data so far, there were no casualties or damage in the attack, said Aleksandar Bogomaz, the governor of the Bryansk region, in the messaging application Telegram.

The Russians launched a major attack on Kharkiv yesterday

Russia attacked Kharkiv yesterday and hit a residential building in this Ukrainian city.

Two people died and 53 were injured in the attack on the second largest Ukrainian city. There are three children among them.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called for more aid to help the country deal with the growing threat of such weapons.

- We need strong decisions from our partners to enable us to stop Russian terrorists and Russian military aviation where they are - emphasized Zelensky.

Later, in his usual nightly address, he said that in June alone Russia had used more than 2.400 guided bombs on Ukrainian targets. About 700 of them were aimed at Kharkiv, he said.

Jessica Berlin of the think tank "Center for European Policy Analysis" published a gruesome video of the attack.

"This could be any street in Europe." This is Kharkiv every day under Russian terror," she wrote.
