An emotional dance between an elderly couple has become a viral hit on social media. The American Macy Montgomery posted a TikTok video of her great-grandfather, Elton John, who uses a special device to be able to dance with his wife, Betty Danner, in honor of her 100th birthday. The video has so far garnered nearly 10 million views, and the number is constantly growing, ABC reported.

In a caption above the video, Montgomery revealed that her great-grandfather had purchased the device specifically for the birthday celebration.

Speaking to "Good Morning America," Montgomery explained that the recording was taken on December 14, 2024, two days before her great-grandmother would have celebrated her 100th birthday, on December 16.

"My great-grandparents grew up in a time when dancing was a big part of life, and after 82 years of marriage, that love has not faded. For her 100th birthday, my great-grandfather (who is also 100 years old) used a standing aid so they could dance together to their favorite song – 'Moonlight Serenade' by Glenn Miller. There wasn't a dry eye in the room," Montgomery said.

In the video, Betty and Elton John are dressed in costumes inspired by Disney animated films - she as Cinderella, and he as her prince.

According to Montgomery, the Disney-themed party was a special gesture for her great-grandmother, as she was no longer able to travel there.

The video also caught the attention of the team that manages the official Disney account, where they commented: "This is a real fairy tale with a happy ending." "'Disney' is their happy story!" Montgomery replied, adding: "The birthday was a four-day 'Disney' celebration! Since they can't go there anymore, we brought Disney to them!"
