(VIDEO) Ukrainian special forces attacked a Russian base in Syria

Ukrainian special forces from the Khimik group of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) carried out a surprise attack on a Russian military base in Syria, a source from the military intelligence of Ukraine said.

The Kyiv Post reported that the operation, carried out in the southeastern suburbs of Aleppo, targeted a facility used by Russian forces to manufacture and test drones, as well as to assemble improvised explosive devices.

The Kyiv Post obtained exclusive footage of the attack, which shows a GUR flag near a garage converted into a Russian base.

Soon after, a loud explosion rocked the site, followed by secondary detonations, likely from ammunition stored in the facility.

Although the exact location and time of the attack cannot be independently verified, the operation appears to have taken place in broad daylight in a desert-like environment.

The footage is the latest in a series of covert operations by Ukrainian special forces against Russian interests in Syria.

The target base in Aleppo was reportedly a strategic hub for Russia's drone warfare and improvised bomb making.

Ukrainian intelligence officials believe these facilities were directly linked to Russian operations in the region, providing critical support to Russian military activities both in Syria and beyond.
