VIDEO | Tom Cruise stole the show at the closing of the Olympics: He rappelled down into the stadium
Tom Cruise stole the show on the official closing ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
The 62-year-old actor rappelled down into the stadium during the raising of the American flag and the singing of the American national anthem, sending the audience into a trance. He then took the flag and motorbiked into Los Angeles before jumping out of a plane and posing next to the Hollywood sign in a pre-recorded sequence.

The social platform X is full of comments about Cruz. Many write that "now it's clear why Tom Cruise is one of the best actors ever".
"I can't even imagine how much Cruise pays for life insurance," some joked.
"I'll just say that Tom Cruise is 62 years old." And that's it," wrote others.
The Olympic Games in Paris are officially closed. The traditional closing ceremony took place at the French national stadium. More than 100 dancers, circus artists and other performers were involved in the ceremony.
Artistic director Thomas Joly revealed that the closing ceremony was conceived as a "combination of wonder and dystopia", and as part of the ceremony, the "Golden Passenger" descended into the stadium and led the audience through the history of the Olympic Games, while acrobats raised the famous five rings of the Games.
The closing ceremony was marked by the performances of French bands, as well as previously prepared recordings of the performances of American stars who announced the holding of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028.
