The young actor Tom Holland, best known for his role as the comic book hero Spider Man, announced that he will take a one-year break from acting, reports The Guardian.

The actor made the decision after filming the thriller series The Crowded Room on apple tv, where he plays a character inspired by the American rapist Billy Milligan, a man with dissociative identity disorder.

In an interview with "Extra TV", Holland says that he enjoyed working as an actor and producer on this series, but the complexity of the role left him too exhausted.

"I know hard work. I lived with the idea that hard work is good work. However, the series broke me. There came a point where I needed a vacation and I disappeared, went to Mexico for a week and had beach time. Now I'm going to take a year off, and that's because of how hard this series was. I'm excited to see what the outcome will be. "I feel that our hard work was not in vain," said Holland.

By the way, the actor has said before that he wants to protect his mental health from the public eye. He has been sober for some time, and last year he withdrew from social media.
