VIDEO | Tilev: The EC report has good and bad assessments which are directions we need to make
- The observation, the sharpening of the view from Brussels is getting higher every year. The EC report can be assessed as good and the new report fully reflects the new methodology, Dragan Tilev from the SEA - State Adviser for European Policies and Coordination told the Morning Briefing.
- Many say that it is just a regrouping of chapters, but I always try to look a little further and how this new regrouping will affect the work at home, says Tilev for Utrinski briefing.
-We will certainly have to reorganize, because this new methodology is for strengthened accession negotiations, which means that it is the preparation for negotiations or the report on the one hand offers an assessment and assessment made in the past 12 months, but there is a second element , which is the cumulative overall readiness of the country for the start of accession negotiations, ie where we are in the transposition of European legislation, what we have achieved so far and where more focus should be given.
- The new methodology gives more space to the member states to intervene in the assessments and evaluations, which is a novelty. The EC will have to submit the draft reports to the member states to collect their opinions, Tilev said.
"In Brussels, all the permanent representations with their permanent representations of the EU member states are now more involved in the preparation of the report," Tilev said.
