VIDEO | Stojanoski: Drones can fly at strictly defined distances

Dragi Stojanoski, Head of the Air Traffic Sector / Morning Briefing

Management drones is becoming a growing trend in the country. Drones armed with great cameras can give a real view of bird's perspective and they can be used to make beautiful photos and videos that leave no one indifferent.

But is there any regulation on who can fly such a drone in the country, what you need to do to be drone operator, can children fly drones, and whether special registration is required, is on these and many other related issues in Morning briefing we talked to the head of the air traffic sector, Dragi Stojanoski.

-The regulation in this area as in many others can not be based on the technical characteristics of the product, but it aims to put their use in a safety framework. For example, a car can reach speeds of up to 300 kilometers per hour, but the limit on the highway is 120 kilometers per hour, says Sojanovski.

In the case of drones from the point of view of air safety - because unmanned aerial vehicles are not the only participants in air traffic - it is also very important maximum height on which they can fly, so as not to come into contact with other air traffic.

Therefore, the current decree on the conditions under which unmanned aircraft can fly in the Macedonian airspace, which was published in the Official Gazette, stipulates that within the visual line of sight, unmanned aircraft at a maximum distance of 500 meters horizontally and 100 meters vertically from the ground. So with the regulation we set the framework under which the aircraft can operate safely, says Stojanovski.

Now, the change of the regulations for drone flights is starting, so certain manufacturers of this type of aircraft are implementing such restrictions in the software solution itself, Stojanoski explains for the Utrinski briefing.
