VIDEO: A performance that stopped the world for nine seconds - Noah Lyles won the gold medal

The American sprinter Noah Lyles won the Olympic gold in the 100 meters at Summer Olympics in Paris.

The athlete from the USA won the spectacular race in front of around 85.000 spectators, after a photo finish.

Five thousandths of a second decided the winner, with Noah Lyles crossing the finish line in 9,79.784 seconds.

Jamaica's Keeshan Thompson finished second with a time of 9,79.789 seconds.

Another American athlete, Fred Kerley, who ran 9,81 seconds, was on the winning podium.
