The director Woody Allen confirmed that he will shoot a new film in Paris this fall. Talking to the actor Alec Baldwin via Instagram Live, Allen, 86, suggested that his 50th film, which is said to be a drama similar to "Match Point" from 2005 - will probably be his last, writes The Guardian.

"A lot of the excitement is gone," Allen said. "Now you make a movie and you get a few weeks in the cinema, and then you go streaming or pay per view. It is not the same. "I do not enjoy that much."

Allen's two latest films, A Rainy Day in New York in 2019 and Rifkin's Festival in 2021, were released during the pandemic. The latter did not perform well, but "A Rainy Day in New York" starring Timothy Shalame and Elle Fanning topped the box office.

"A Rainy Day in New York" was the first film released after Allen's five-film deal with Amazon failed as a result of renewed attention from the director's adopted daughter. Dylan, in 1992, that he had sexually abused her. Allen has always denied the claim; two lengthy investigations were closed without charge against him.

Speaking to Baldwin, Allen said he had so far managed to avoid catching Covid-19 through a mixture of luck and caution. "When the pandemic came," he said, "I was in my house, petrified like everyone else, hiding under the bed." After a period of regret that he could not make the film he had planned, Allen said he was reassessing the situation.

"I thought, 'Bray, I like it under the bed.' "I do not go out and I do not have to make a movie and be frozen in winter and sweaty in summer and make decisions all day."

Speaking on Tuesday, Baldwin and Allen moved away from the controversy in which they were both involved. Announcing the interview on Monday, Baldwin indicated that would be the case.

"Let me preface this by saying that I have zero interest in someone's verdicts and worldly posts here," he wrote in an Instagram account.
