Rescuers have so far pulled 11 bodies from the rubble of a XNUMX-storey building in Iran, and ce fears there may be more casualties as large numbers of people remain trapped.

At least 39 people ce injured, most lightly, officials said earlier.

In the Iranian city of Abadan yesterday ce demolished a ten-storey building under construction. Parts of the building fell on nearby shops and cars.

Police arrested the mayor and nine other people. It was previously reported that ce the owner of the building and the head of the construction site were arrested, but the media later reported that among the victims ce both, although this has not been officially confirmed.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi expressed his condolences and called on local authorities to investigate the case.
