VIDEO | Salimovski: With the donations we will continue with "Roma rock school" and music education for children from economically disadvantaged families

The non-governmental "Roma Rock School" provides music education for Roma youth and children from economically disadvantaged families. During April, they conducted a donation campaign to purchase instruments and ensure the continuation of free music lessons for children, mostly from the Roma community.

"From April 5 to 23, the campaign of" Global Giving ", one of the largest platforms for raising funds of non-governmental organizations, lasts, we are one of the three organizations from Macedonia on this platform, which is a great success for us. We entered this campaign to continue our work with the students from "Roma Rock School", ie to provide free music education for all students, not only Roma, but also from other communities. The parents of these students do not have enough funds to send their children to private music schools or to buy them instruments, despite the fact that they have great musical talent. We at "Roma Rock School" provide them with free classes, we have teachers for almost every instrument and since the project we have with "Musicians without Borders" ends in April, we are looking for a way to continue because in these three years through "Roma Rock School" "More than 70 students have passed, 30 of whom are active and four bands are already functioning. "If this project stops, students would not have the opportunity to develop their talents," Alvin Salimovski, head of Roma Rock School, told Utrinski briefing.

He said the goal was to raise $ 25 to provide music education for 30 students in one year. About $ 5 has already been raised so far to meet the requirements for the project to be visible on the Global Giving website, but their goal has not yet been achieved. Tomorrow (Saturday, April 17) there will be a final online concert featuring students from Roma Rock School along with students from Mitrovica Rock School and Musicians Without Borders.
