VIDEO: Putin reminded Johnson that even though she was a woman, Margaret Thatcher invaded Argentina
Russian President Vladimir Putin has reacted to claims by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson that Putin would not invade Ukraine if she were a woman.
Johnson called Putin's decision to launch a "special military operation," as the Kremlin calls the war in Ukraine, "a perfect example of toxic masculinity."
Responding to these allegations, Putin referred to the decision of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher to send troops to the Falkland Islands.
"I just want to remind you of an event in recent history, when Margaret Thatcher, as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, decided to launch a military operation against Argentina in the Falkland Islands. Thus, a woman decided to take military action. "Therefore, Johnson's statements about what is happening today are not entirely true, that is, it is happening, and women are starting wars," Putin said.
He continued to criticize Britain and its leaders, saying they had "imperial ambitions".
"Where are the Falkland Islands and where is Britain?" "Thatcher's actions were dictated by imperial ambitions," Putin said.
