32 years ago today, on May 29, 1991, Red Star achieved the greatest success of Yugoslav football, became the champion of Europe.
In the Champions Cup at that time (now the Champions League), in the final played in Bari after the regular part, it was 0:0, and in the penalty shootout, the Belgrade "red and whites" were better than Olympique Marseille with 5:3.
The key penalty for the European title was scored by the Macedonian football legend Darko Panchev, also winner of the "Golden Boot".
This final will be remembered even after the cult comment of Milojko Pantic who broadcast the final match.
