VIDEO | A fire in a Russian thermal power plant
A large fire broke out in the thermal power plant in the Russian city of Perm. Photos showing a thick plume of black smoke rising from the Permskaya CHPP-9 thermal power plant in central Russia have circulated on social media. The cause of the fire is still unknown.

A cloud of black smoke is visible from the entire city, and Russian media reports that the fire broke out from the roof of the power plant. Eyewitnesses told Russian portals that they saw a fire in one of the workshops of the power plant. Russian state media reports that around 500 people were immediately evacuated from the building. Perm is about 2000 kilometers from Ukraine.
