Actors Tom Hanks and Anna Kendrick announced the new Los Angeles Museum of Dedication to the film, calling it the glory of an art form that has made a global impact.

"Los Angeles is finally getting a movie museum and it was high time for that! "It's important for Los Angeles to have this film museum," Hanks said

The new museum of the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will exhibit over 13 million pieces, including costumes, artwork, screenplays, photographs and cameras used to film some of Hollywood's greatest hits.

Instead of a chronological display of Hollywood splendor and glamor, the museum will display a non-linear setting designed to explore filmmaking around the world, from blockbusters to independents.

Spread over 28 square meters, the museum will house a collection of 5000 original pieces from films such as The Wizard of Oz, Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, and Dracula.

Tom Hanks, a member of the board of trustees of the Academy that awards the Oscars, announced the new museum and said that it is of particular importance that Los Angeles, as the home of Hollywood, will receive an exhibition dedicated to the film business.

"We need to celebrate everything that this city has brought to the world, and everything that the art form has brought to the world, to unite people. "Movies continue to be a magical art that speaks to everyone everywhere," the 65-year-old actor said at the museum's official opening.

After several delays by the Academy, the museum will finally open to the public on September 30.
