The tanks that are part of the three decisions on the donation of military aid and armaments to Ukraine have been transported and their donation does not impair the combat readiness of our Army, the Minister of Defense informed tonight Slavjanka Petrovska.

In the "Topic of the Day" on Sitel television, she stated that the Ministry has made three political decisions in the Government so far since the beginning of the aggression against Ukraine, which are still classified due to security issues, but very soon, at the proposal of the Minister, they will be declassified in an appropriate form will be communicated to the public about exactly what we have donated.

Petrovska said that it was a third generation unpromising equipment, which would have to be destroyed in a short time.

Explaining why they are classified, Petrovska said that at the beginning all the countries that donated announced transparently, but then there was a request not to be so transparent for security reasons.

"When you make the decision and when you give the content that is donated, then the process of transporting that equipment follows. And that, of course, can also represent a security risk in these circumstances. That is the only reason why we thought that at that moment," said Petrovska.

Clarifying why the donation does not affect our Army, the minister emphasized that in the process of our country's accession to NATO, numerous plans have been made regarding what the structure of our Army will be, but also about what combat readiness of our Army means and what kind of armament we should possess.

In those plans, as he added, it is foreseen exactly which capacities we will develop, and all other plans for the modernization of the Army, as well as the long-term plan for the development of defense capabilities, have been made in that direction.

"We should not forget that since we are a NATO member country, we share our security together with other member countries and we are part of the collective security system," concluded Petrovska.

Answering a question, Petrovska announced that new multi-functional western-style helicopters will be procured, and this is in line with the plans for the development of the defense capabilities and capacities of our Army. He added that apart from the six armored vehicles that were delivered to the country, they expect the delivery of another 27 such vehicles.

"Regarding the procurement of the anti-aircraft defense system, the agreement has already been finalized, I will go to Paris for a one-day visit at the beginning of September, where together with the Minister of Defense of France, we will sign this agreement. The other contracts are at a more advanced stage," said Petrovska.
