Hardly anyone can resist hot sandwiches, and for many they are a frequent choice when it comes to breakfast or dinner. Although their preparation does not require special skills, the Poles have made a kind of brand from the hot sandwich called "casserole", which has become a popular street food, and many call it Polish pizza.

These hot sandwiches are made very simply and quickly, you can put everything you want in them, and this is the original recipe made in Poland.


– 1 baguette

- 50 g chopped bacon

– 50 g of ham

- 200 g of yellow cheese

- 300 g mushrooms

- 2 cloves of garlic

- 1 onion

- 1 tomato

- salt, pepper

- a little oil


Cut the baguette lengthwise, then use a spoon to remove the middle of the bread. Finely chop the champignons and garlic.

Pour a little oil on the heated pan, then put the mushrooms and onions to stew for five minutes.

Season the mushrooms with salt and pepper. When the mushrooms and onions are ready, take them out of the pan, then add the finely chopped bacon and ham to fry.

Fill the baguettes with fried onions and mushrooms. Place fried bacon and ham on one part of the baguette, and sliced ​​tomato on the other. Sprinkle generously with grated cheese. Bake them in a heated oven at 180 degrees for about 10 minutes. If desired, you can sprinkle them with oregano or parsley before serving.
