VIDEO: Kamala Harris' earrings at Trump debate spark conspiracy theory she was wearing headphones
Conspiracy theories are rife among supporters of former US President Donald Trump after yesterday's debate, with some suspecting that outgoing US Vice President Kamala Harris was wearing earrings but secret headphones.
As Newsweek magazine and Bild newspaper write, conspiracy theorists believe that during the first televised duel between Kamala and Trump, Biden's chosen one used a secret earpiece.
The German newspaper also claims that the handset is "made in Germany".
Harris, who has previously said Bluetooth headphones are a "security risk," was accused of wearing pearl earrings to help her during the 90-minute showdown with her Republican opponent.
Her critics assumed without evidence that the gold earrings, which Harris has previously worn from Tiffany, were actually a pair of "smart" audio earrings designed by German start-up NOVA.
The only similarity between the earrings and the headphones is that they both have a pearl.
It is evident that the X-Men's so-called "Maverick Approach", which claims to be an "alternative news source", strongly supports the conspiracy theory that the Democratic candidate for the presidency of the United States wore headphones to the debate.
"There is a big problem with this discussion," says X's account.
"I said she was being told what to say during the debate and my hunch was right. Novas are the world's first and only wireless headphones."
"Nothing is as it seems," many netizens were quick to clarify, echoing the conspiracy theory with a photo of Harris during the debate, which clearly shows her hearing aids.
The kickstarter page promoting the technology says the NOVA H1 Audio earrings, which are said to be the first acoustic earrings, are placed in the ears and can “project sound from inside the pearl directly into the ear canal.
"Two high-quality miniature microphones are built into each earpiece, providing the user with crystal-clear phone calls and wind noise cancellation," the announcement states.
"These earrings are fully equipped with the latest technology, embedded in real pearls to provide you with music, phone calls and digital assistants throughout the day.
The NOVA H1 earrings cost around $625 and are only available in gold.
At the same time, Harris' supporters do not accept the existence of secret headphones, trumpeting that her earrings are Tiffany jewelry, the price of which reaches $ 2.000.
However, according to US media, the earrings are said to be indeed from Tiffany & Co.
And if Harris really wanted to hear someone whispering in her ear, there are many devices on the market that are completely invisible, comments the American press and writes Bild.
