VIDEO | Mirakovska: EP gives clear support to the country for European integration - Macedonian red lines included in the adopted document

Sonja Mirakovska, Co-Chair of the Joint Parliamentary Committee Northern Macedonia - EU / Morning Briefing

At the 19th meeting of the Joint Parliamentary Committee, we adopted important recommendations for our country, important for the relations between Macedonia and the European Union, he said in Morning briefing Sonja Mirakovska, Co-Chair of the Joint Parliamentary Committee Northern Macedonia - EU.

- The document we are carrying is instructive. It is a document adopted by the Joint Parliamentary Committee, established by the Stabilization and Association Agreement between Macedonia and the European Union. This Committee has held 19 meetings so far and constantly has recommendations. Those recommendations can often be found in Council documents, EC documents, EP documents. In a way, when MEPs vote on such a recommendation addressed to the EU institutions and Northern Macedonia will stick to the views, says Mirakovska.

- We managed in this important document, as point three to enter the red lines of the Government of the Republic of Northern Macedonia. That means accepting a negotiating framework with a clear wording for the Macedonian language, clear protection of the Macedonian identity, treatment of historical issues outside the framework and the start of negotiations before starting any procedure to change the Constitution, says Mirakovska.
