VIDEO | Kurti: The agreement to establish the ZSO has no priority over other agreements
The Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti stated that the agreement establishing the Community of Serbian Municipalities cannot take priority among the 33 agreements signed as part of the negotiation process in Brussels, they announced the Kosovo media.
"On the one hand, there are 33 Brussels agreements from the last decade and there is no agreement that has priority over other agreements. There is no hierarchy of these agreements. I emphasize that none of those 33 agreements can have hierarchical priority, that is, they can be ranked. And let's never forget that at the center of the agreements should be mutual recognition, because that's the only way to achieve full normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia," Kurti said.
Derek Schole, an adviser at the US State Department, asked Prime Minister Kurti to accept the European Union's proposal for normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia and to advance talks on the establishment of the Community of Municipalities with a Serbian majority in Kosovo.
This request was repeated yesterday by the spokesperson of the US State Department Ned Price. Price said that the message of the United States of America to Kosovo is to start the process of forming a Community of Municipalities with a Serbian majority as soon as possible.
