VIDEO | Flogst's Trick: A Strange Trick to Relieve Stress in Sweden
In some parts of Sweden, it is common for students and other citizens to open their windows late at night and start screaming without being reprimanded. The screaming should be sincere and strong without feeling ashamed or what others will say.
Students at the Hernandez Vaga in Uppsala scream every night, and their Lapcarsberget colleagues practice it only on Tuesdays, while in Lund the screaming starts at 23pm.
Many say it is a cult, but the reason is quite rational - students scream to get rid of stress, frustration and fear.
This "phenomenon" that the Swedes call the cry of Flogst, was named after the student dormitory near Uppsala.
According to popular theory, screaming began in the 70s or 80s when a group of Lund students watched a primordial cry documentary and concluded that noise would help relieve negative emotions and stress due to exams.
That is why the Swedish phenomenon was first called the cry of Delphi, and only later became the cry of Flogst.
If you find yourself in Sweden in the student parts of the cities where this phenomenon is still a way of life - do not hesitate, but let your voice be heard, states the portal Punkufer.
