British King Charles with his wife Camilla is visiting Germany. It is his first trip abroad since becoming British king. The king visited an organic farm and helped make a special cheese dedicated to him.

"We heard that the king is a big fan of cheese." We used it as an opportunity to make cheese for him," said Katja von Maltzan, who runs the Brodovin farm with her husband, about 80 kilometers from the German capital. AP News reports.

Brodovin King is a Tilsiter-style cheese, with carrot juice to give it "a bit of sweetness and an orange colour, like British cheddar". In addition to cheese, the farm also produces vegetables, dairy products, linseed and sunflower oil, fresh meat and sausages, all according to strict organic standards.

Arriving at the farm, the British monarch toured the property, which has 160 dairy cows, 300 dairy goats and 1.800 chickens. Because of the heavy rain, the king did not go to the stable, but spent the time in the dairy.

“We kind of got stuck in the dairy. But it gave us a chance to talk a little with the king, which might not have been possible otherwise,” Katya said. The farmers plan to produce about 150 pies of the royal cheese, which will need to ripen for six to eight weeks before it is ready to eat.

The farmers were very honored, they say, that the king decided to come to their farm. The king also talked to the farm employees and asked them questions about organic farming. "We talked about cow manure and how good it is for the soil," Katya said.
