VIDEO | Kovacevski from New York: The energy crisis this winter is a serious threat to the educational process
"A big challenge is facing us this winter - the energy crisis is a serious threat to the educational process. In order to achieve our long-term goals, we must first ensure that we have enough resources for the basic conditions – warm and well-lit homes and warm and well-lit classrooms so that our students can have a smooth and quality education this winter. This is the number one priority today, tomorrow and in the coming winter months. The answer to these challenges can only be found in mutual international and interregional cooperation, but most of all through solidarity," said the Prime Minister today. Dimitar Kovacevski in the address at the Education Transformation Summit held within the framework of the UN General Assembly in New York.
Kovachevski said that only by making joint efforts, as is done at this Summit, and by working together, a solution to every problem can be found and progress can be achieved.
- If we want our students to grow up with a good education, we must first show them how we adults can solve problems together. Otherwise, no educational model or development strategy will make any difference, nor will it mean anything to them, underlined the Macedonian Prime Minister.
In his address, Kovacevski emphasized the commitments and concrete steps for the transformation of education in the country with the aim, as he mentioned, of providing quality and accessible education for all.
The summit, which is debating the improvement of educational systems in countries through a transformative reform process and ensuring quality and affordable education for every child, began this afternoon with an address by the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres. The Summit is attended by more than 90 leaders of heads of state and government who discuss the best ways to improve the education systems in the countries.
Kovacevski leads the Macedonian delegation at the UN General Assembly in New York, which includes the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Education and Science, Bujar Osmani and Jeton Shaqiri, the head of the Mission of the Republic of North Macedonia to the UN Ljubomir Frchkovski and the foreign affairs advisor of the Prime Minister, Edmond Ademi.
