Breast cancer is a growing problem in developing countries, and screening programs for early detection are rare, reports "Bi-bi-si".

A company in India has developed an inexpensive but highly accurate test that uses thermal imaging and artificial intelligence.

Although considered less reliable than mammography, doctors hope the test can help spot some early cancers in people who might not otherwise have access to mammography screening.

The US FDA says mammography is the best screening method for breast cancer.
