36 years have passed since one of the greatest disasters in the field of space exploration.

Seven astronauts lost their lives on January 28, 1986, 73 seconds after launch, apparently in the presence of Cape Canaravela crew members and on a live television broadcast watched by billions of people around the world.

The Rodgers Commission, of which he was a member the first man on the moon, Neil Armstrong, came to the conclusion that the tragedy is due to the so-called rubber "o-rings" that held the structure of the propellant rockets.

The rings were worn out at low temperatures, and at the time of launch it was minus 8 degrees Celsius.
