Out of a total of 40 fires registered during yesterday, 25 fires were extinguished and six were brought under control. Nine fires are still active today, the largest of which is the fire in the territory of the Municipality of Makedonski Brod, according to the video statement released by the director of the Crisis Management Center, Stojanche Angelov.

"The number of fires that affect the territory of Macedonia every day is alarming. During yesterday we had as many as 40 fires in open space. Some of them are smaller, some are a little bigger, and we also have a fire monster. But I have to point out time and time again that even the smallest fires can turn into big forest fires in an instant and threaten a settlement or endanger people's lives several kilometers away. That's why I appeal to all citizens to be extremely careful, so as not to cause a fire in the open air, said Angelov and warned that resources are being used up, and firefighters are at the end of their strength.

The most difficult fire they have been facing for 20 days is the fire that is raging in the territory of the Municipality of Makedonski Brod, the fire that passed through the village of Taževo, while burning the houses of this village, then turned around the village of Breznica, and during the course of yesterday it went down on the territory of the Jasen hunting ground.

- We are working on this fire again today with many resources, including a Hungarian helicopter. There are also 40 members of the Hungarian fire brigade with special vehicles who have already made a fire belt that secures the weekend settlement on the shore of Lake Kozjak. We also have local firefighters and 26 members of the Macedonian police, says Angelov.

He emphasizes that at this moment, the weekend, the settlement is relatively safe, because of the fire belts, but, he says, he still states that it is being monitored carefully and it will be necessary to have people in the same place who will not allow the fire, i.e. the fire to spread it bypasses the fire belts, as well as the forest road that passes above the settlement itself.

The second fire that has been going on for days, says Angelov, is the fire on Ilinska Planina, which is now taking place more in the territory of the Municipality of Demir Hisar. Today, four local firefighters are working on it with the support of ten National Forest employees. It is active in the area near the village of Brežani, Municipality of Ohrid, and 20 members of the National Forests are also active on that side. First of all, low vegetation, low-stemmed forest is affected, and in some places pine forest is also burning.

- It is characteristic of this fire that on several occasions we used airplanes, on several occasions air tractors, we also used helicopters, but strong smoke rises, which reduces visibility and makes it difficult to maneuver the airplanes. That is why I appeal to the municipal authorities to do their best to increase the activities of this move and to bring under control this outdoor fire, which has been raging for days, appeals Stojanov.

The third fire is active in the territory of the Municipality of Chaska, in the villages of Papradiste and Orashce, where two air tractors from Cyprus were operating this morning. These are air tractors that arrived yesterday, and as of today they have already been put into operation. 10 people from the National Forests, as well as five employees of the Municipality, are hired on the ground. They burn young stands of forest, low vegetation, but also high forest.

The fourth fire is the fire that broke out yesterday in the territory of the Municipality of Petrovec, went in the direction of Gradmanci and Divlje, which tonight caused strong anxiety among residents or people staying in the weekend settlement above Katlanovska banja. It is worked on with the two SSO air tractors, as well as with the two German air tractors. Also on the ground are members of the Brigade for anti-fire protection of the City of Skopje, employees of National Forests and SSO. Burns low vegetation.

The fire is still active on the territory of the Municipality of Studeničani towards the villages of Drachevica and Crvena voda in the locality called Temna buka, where employees of the National Forests participate in the extinguishing. It burns mixed low and tall vegetation.

The sixth fire is on the territory of Kichevo municipality, near the village of Chelopeci, which during yesterday started in the direction of several military facilities, which is why, as the director of the CMC states, a larger air force was directed to extinguish it, i.e. several helicopters - one army, several foreign, as well as air tractors.

-During today, we are operating there with two air tractors from Germany, as well as the local firefighters, but also members of the Macedonian army and a larger number of them. This fire started from a wild dump, and then spread to the surrounding low vegetation, Angelov states.

The seventh fire is on the territory of the Municipality of Debar near the village of Kosovrasti, where the terrain is extremely steep, moving in the direction of the village of Rajchica, Rejlevci. In this region, two air tractors of the SSO operated today, and five local firefighters, 12 employees of the National Forests, as well as four people from the local population are on the ground. According to Anegelov, it is a serious forest fire that is burning in difficult-to-access terrain.

- The eighth fire is on the territory of Ohrid, on Mount Galichica, it is the fire that came from the Albanian side to our side yesterday, then we put it under control, we put it out, but it has been reactivated again. We operated there today with a police helicopter, local firefighters, people from National Forests, volunteers, and rangers from the National Park are on the spot. The Albanian side is also acting in extinguishing this fire. Burns low-stemmed vegetation and grass.

The ninth active fire is on the territory of Makedonski Brod, in the atar of the village of Slatine. Part of the firefighters from Makedonski Brod, totaling 12, were diverted to extinguish this fire, which, as Angelov says, weakened their numbers at the big fire which moves in the direction of Jasen and the weekend settlement of Lake Kozjak. This smaller fire is extinguished by people from JP National Forests and local population. Burns low vegetation.

The six fires that have been brought under control, but which, Angelov warns, can get out of control at any moment are in the territory near Gevgelija near the village of Negorci, Kichevo near the village of Zajas, Kočani in a locality called Panagjur, in Makedonski Brod, near the village Slatina, Municipality of Plasnica near the village of Plasnica, where it is still smoking in the direction of the village of Latovo, and the landfill of Delčevo, which is still showing signs of smoking.

A total of 25 fires were extinguished yesterday, of which a total of 11 fires were extinguished in the territory of the city of Skopje, and two are still active.

- Skopje firefighters have their hands full. They killed themselves from work, putting out a large number of fires every day. Only in the territory of the Municipality of Studeničani after Drachevo, for those who do not know where this municipality is located, there were four fires yesterday. There were four fires on the territory of Gazi Baba yesterday. One fire in the territory of the Municipality of Arachinovo, and one in the Municipality of Chucher Sandevo. That's why I appeal to the citizens to be careful. Resources are running out, firefighters are running out of steam. The question arises as to what if citizens continue to set fires at this rate, intentionally or unintentionally. So our forces are running out. Aid from abroad has also decreased, Angelov underlined.

During yesterday, fires were extinguished near Prilep, Dojran, Bogdanci, two near Gostivar, in Berovo, Brvenica, Radovish, Debar, Kumanovo, Kriva Palanka, three fires in Struga and another one near Delchevo. The number of fires is alarming.

At this moment, one helicopter from Hungary, two air tractors from Germany, as well as two air tractors from Cyprus are operating on the territory of the country. Which arrived during yesterday. Early in the morning, the Serbian helicopter left, which was of great help to us, but due to the increasing number of open fires, it had to return to Serbia. At the same time, we have a team of 46 people from Hungary on the spot, which is completely focused on the big fire near Makedonski Brod, that is, over Lake Kozjak, which entered Jasen. I appeal to the citizens to report any suspicious behavior to the number 122, especially if they witness a person who started or unintentionally caused a fire in the open air, emphasizes the director of CMC Angelov in the video statement.
