VIDEO: Jokic received the MVP award in his Sombor
Nikola Jokic is now officially named the Most Valuable Player in the World Basketball League (NBA).
The Serbian center was given a real spectacle with the award ceremony, after a delegation of Denver Nuggets flew directly to Sombor (the player's hometown) where he was awarded the trophy.
In the vote, Jokic received 875 points, ahead of Joel Embid (Philadelphia Sixers) who received 706, and third place went to Janis Adetokumbo (Milwaukee Bucks, 595).
Jokic won the MVP trophy on the field last season, and now instead of that award for a great season, he was awarded a crystal ball.

This is the second Kia NBA Most Valuable Player Award for Nikola Jokić, who also earned the honor last season. He becomes the 13th player to win the award in consecutive seasons.

The reason for that is that the whole NBA season marks a big jubilee, 75 years of existence, and Jokic was presented with a special trophy that will be presented to him only this year, so the center of the Denver Nuggets will be the only one in history to receive it!
News arrives from the United States that the Serbian basketball player will receive the traditional MVP trophy at a special ceremony to be held later in the season.
