The song "Lux Æterna" has more than nine million listens in less than twenty-four hours since its release.

Their tour kicks off in Europe the same month they release the album, before a run of shows in North America later in the year. Additional locations are scheduled for Europe and the Americas in 2024. The tour includes two shows in each city visited, and the band promises completely different set lists and supporting lineups in each.

"72 Seasons". The first 18 years of our lives that form our true or false selves. The concept that our parents told us "who we are". A possible struggle for what kind of person we are. I think the most interesting part of this is the continued study of those core beliefs and how they affect our perception of the world today. Much of our experience in adulthood is a reconstruction or reaction to those childhood experiences. Do we remain captives of our childhood or do we free ourselves from those shackles we wear" - said Hetfield to Pitchfork.
