The construction works have been stopped, there is no machinery or workers in Skopje Bardovci where the construction of the Reception Center for foreigners started in May this year. This is the case on the ground, and on the streets of Skopje, several residents of this neighborhood often go out and protest against the construction of a reception center for foreigners, blocking the city center in the afternoon.

They first express their revolt in front of the Office of the EU Delegation, which is the financier of this project through the EU IPA funds, and then in front of the Government.

It is a closed facility, which should take care of a maximum of 140 foreigners, who will be found by the Ministry of Interior without documents and without regulated residence in the country, but only during the period of their identification and status settlement, and that is usually a few days.

These persistent residents of Skopje Bardovci who for months take to the streets of Skopje in the city center and seek dislocation of the Center for their personal safety and protection of property from foreigners who would stay here, are different from those of the Ministry of Interior on whose initiative are due to the catastrophic conditions in such a center in Gazi Baba where foreigners with unregulated residence are currently staying.
