Corruption is omnipresent in Macedonia and can be noticed at every step, says analyst Ivo Rangjelovic, who was a guest on the show Utrinski Pechat.

- I was to take out a marriage certificate for my parents and there was no pen in the institution. And while I was looking for a pen, a man offered to help me, he gave me the pen to fill out the form and offered me for 1.000 denars to submit the request to him, so that the statement would be issued efficiently - says Ranđelović.

He believes that the basic reason for corruption is the fear for the existence of the Macedonian, who is not sure of his future.

- Macedonian society has an existential problem, and that is the fear of survival. The average Macedonian sees a source of his survival through the party, for obtaining office or employment. Every second Macedonian, if not every one, will tell you that the state administration is the most reliable source of livelihood. When an individual takes office or gets a job, his personal calculus is that in the next four years with the arrival of a new government, his livelihood will be threatened or at least his position will be degraded. It is here that the space for corruption opens up, that is, it is a motivator or stimulator for every individual for corrupt acts - says Rangjelovic.

He also claims that Macedonia is clinically dead, and receives "tube oxygen" from several foreign embassies, which injected money into the system in order to prolong the country's life.

- Friendly countries help Macedonia, but they do it to satisfy a certain interest, that is, a concession. The fight against corruption should come from within, and we can get some help from abroad, but they cannot lead our fight from there - he adds.

In an interview with Utrinski Pechat, Rangjelovic pointed out that the war in Ukraine further improved the conditions for corruption in our region.
