A major fire broke out at an American drone factory in Latvia in Marupe, a suburb of the capital Riga, the Latvian newspaper "Diena.lv" reported.

A large number of rescue teams are on the ground trying to put out the large flames, and residents are advised to stay away.

Almost 50 firefighters, nine fire trucks, as well as the fire department of Riga International Airport are extinguishing the flames.

The owner of the factory is the American company "Edge Autonomy", which manufactures unmanned aerial vehicles, which are delivered to governments, commercial and private customers in almost 70 countries.

This company is considered one of the leading manufacturers of world-class drones, and their drones are also supplied to the Ukrainian military.
