VIDEO | Dr. Zeqiri: Do not rush to vaccinate children
The corona virus has completely changed the way people live all over the world.
In the country since the beginning of the pandemic are registered over 213.000 people who underwent it this viral disease but it is assumed that this number may be much higher because in a large part of the population, especially in younger and healthy individuals it is assumed to have passed without symptoms.
With the number of vaccinated and the interest in immunization we can not boast much, and we can conclude that we are still far from collective immunity.
The virus spreads very fast, and its constant mutation makes the fight more difficult but also increases its ability for easier transmission.
Covid-19 knows no age limit.
Certainly besides the adults from him children from the youngest age are also affected. How much is it the risk of this viral disease in the youngest population and how to protect them at the Morning Briefing we spoke with Dr. Besnik Zeqiri Director of the Children's Clinic for Lung Diseases Kozle.
-Currently we have 22 children hospitalized in our institution. There are also most who are treated on an outpatient basis. The youngest are two twins of one month each. The older ones are 16-17 years old, says Dr. Zeqiri.
- In principle, they are school children. We currently have enough beds. At the moment we have about 40 beds with the possibility to make 60 beds. The protocol for children is not the same as for adults. Young people come for timely treatment, which means that their parents take care of their health. says Dr. Zeqiri for the Morning Briefing.
The doctor talked about the recommendations and post-quid symptoms in the youngest population.
