VIDEO: Drawings of Smurfs and Talick Tom in the new Belgian passport

The new Belgian passports will become one of the most unique in the world

From February 7 the official passports of Belgium will be illustrated with drawings of the most famous Belgian comic book heroes ranging from the Smurfs, through Tallic Tom to Tin Tin and Marsupilami.

The new Belgian passports will thus become one of the most unique in the world, and it will be an opportunity to further promote comics as a national art that Belgians are very proud of.

"The Belgian passport is one of the best in the world, it is a source of pride for us, but also a subject of the forger's wish. "Therefore, we are constantly working to improve his security," said Belgian Foreign Minister Sophie Wilmes.

The new passports will include 48 security techniques and should be twice as secure as the current ones when it comes to abuse.

The Belgian passport is currently the seventh most valued for the freedom of movement it provides to a holder of 199 national passports globally.
