The pandemic has been making headlines for the past two years. The fourth wave of the covid-19 pandemic started last week, affecting the whole of Europe. Special measures are being introduced in some European countries. In our country, it seems that this intense wave has passed the summer, but it does not mean that it will not be repeated.

- The Minister of Health said that the new wave has started, which is evidenced by the number of hospitalizations. We have a low vaccination of only 40% due to the spread of conspiracy theories, and on the other hand the measures adopted are not applied and controlled, such as having a vaccination certificate for entry indoors. Only three fines out of seven hundred controls were imposed by the inspectorate, says "Free Press" journalist Miroslava Burns.

IPH is now working on sequencing the new variant delta plus and no such case has been found so far.

"Italy has gone the furthest - 23 million Italians must have a vaccination certificate to be able to go to work whether in the private or public sector, which has sparked protests, but the Italian government has no intention of backing down on vaccination coverage," Burns said.

The vaccine is crucial, and for now we only have to appeal for vaccination. But in Croatia from tomorrow all employees in public institutions will be tested twice a week or will have to have vaccination status. Others measures in the region is a ban on New Year's celebrations, restrictions on the work of catering facilities, a ban on buying alcohol in the evening, unvaccinated employees to be tested once a week at the expense of the employer, explains Miroslava Burns.

- You can no longer pray. Testing will have to be introduced every 48 hours with a test that costs 15 euros, Burns said.

Vaccination does not completely protect against infection, but it does help prevent the deadly consequences of infection. In Denmark, for example, where there is an 80% vaccination coverage, there are no restrictive measures.
