Today in the premises of the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Skopje in the presence of current and former teaching staff, students, colleagues and friends, it was solemnly celebrated 73 the annual anniversary since the establishment of The Faculty of Architecture at the University "St. Cyril and Methodius" in Skopje.

The Faculty of Architecture in Skopje was established on October 6, 1949, as one of the two oldest technical faculties in the Republic of North Macedonia.

During his seven decades During its existence, the faculty went through several significant development phases. The first studies in architecture were organized in 1949 within the framework of the newly founded Technical Faculty with two departments: architectural and construction.

Later, in 1955, within the Technical Faculty, the Faculty of Architecture and Construction was established with two departments - architectural and construction. In 1976, the architecture department grew into an independent Faculty of Architecture with a unique study program in architecture lasting nine or ten semesters.

Those present at today's ceremony the dean of the faculty, Prof. Dr Fire Marina, with a retrospective of the development of the Faculty of Architecture, but also referred to the importance, the significance of this institution as well as the importance of architecture in general.

- Today, the Faculty of Architecture at UKIM is celebrating its 73rd anniversary since holding its first academic class on October 6, 1949, right in this building. This was enough of an occasion for us, after two and a half years of the pandemic, to organize the anniversary celebration and gather with all our friends and colleagues, including retired professors, to celebrate the return to the faculty. I believe that in the coming period we will face a series of predestinations, but as in the past, we will try to emerge even stronger in such moments in order to be able to realize what is planned. That's why we need support from institutions, society and citizens - he said shortly after the ceremony Free Press prof. Dr Fire Marina.

Otherwise, through the long existence, the faculty has produced more than 4000 architects through an educational program implemented and delivered by 130 professors. The Rector of UKIM addressed the attendees emphasizing the importance of the faculty and congratulating this significant jubilee.
