Vanessa Bryant accused Nike of fraud
The shoes that he designs in honor of the deceased daughter, "Nike" wants to put on sale without her permission.
Vanessa Bryant, the wife of the tragically killed NBA legend Kobe Bryant, accused the most famous sports equipment manufacturer "Nike" of unauthorized sale of sneakers that she designed in honor of her late daughter Gianna. Kobe Bryant and Gianna were killed in a helicopter crash near Los Angeles early last year.
"These are sneakers I worked on in honor of my daughter Gianna. They are called "Mambasita" and are conceived as an exclusive black and white line like her father's sneakers, Vanessa Bryant wrote on Instagram.
However, As Vanessa explained, all plans for the production and sale of that model of sneakers have been postponed because the contract between Nike and Kobe Bryant, which lasted 18 years, has expired, and no new one has been signed or the old one has been extended.
- The idea was to pay all the proceeds from the sale to our "Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation" but since "Nike" did not extend the contract, I decided that those sneakers will not be sold. They have no approval to be put on sale, they can not even be produced. I do not know how anyone else can have the rights to something I designed for my daughter. "I hope they will not be sold." writes Vanessa Bryant.
The new model of sneakers in honor of Gianna Bryant, the company "Nike" announced for the second half of the year, and it has already been announced on social networks what the sneakers will look like. Nike did not respond to Vanessa Bryant's allegations.
